Alfonso Bertrán Gil  was born in Barcelona, Spain. He received his degree in Architecture from the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura de Barcelona ETSAB in 2015. He also studied at Arkitektur- og Designhøgskolen i Oslo in 2012 and 2013 with an Erasmus Fellowship. Before graduating he worked for the Fundació Mies Van der Rohe on the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale Fundamentals. He also worked in the following offices; BLAU and Estudi d'arquitectura Toni Gironès, Ar47 Estudi d'Arquitectura and currently, in David Chipperfield Architects as a memeber of the Arousa Study project.
